(AP) Green thumb industries have become one of the fastest-growing sectors in the United States, but a new study says it’s also become a hotbed for pollution.
The Green Umbrella Industries Association says green thumb businesses employ more than 6.6 million Americans and generate more than $2.5 billion in economic activity each year.
They’re also one of just three industries that can earn the United Nations’ green thumb designation.
The International Business Times reports green thumb manufacturing in the U.S. has grown by 7 percent since 2010, while green thumb services have grown by 6 percent.
